(BANSHU MARU No.5 as BANSHU MARU No. 15, prior to 1939 – Peter Cundall collection)
This class consists of BANSHU MARU No. 15 only, completed in 1933 for Hayashikane Shoten K.K. She was renamed BANSHU MARU No. 5 in 1939, requisitioned by the IJN in Jul ’41 and converted to an auxiliary stores ship in Oct ‘41. She was torpedoed and sunk by an American submarine in Apr ‘43.
