Kobe. Laid down by Mitsubishi Jukogyo Zosensho K.K shipyard for the Osaka Shosen Kaisha (OSK Line) K.K. as a 1,905-ton passenger ship.
23 May 1936:
Launched and named KOGANE MARU. [1]

Completed and registered in Kobe.
3 September 1936:
Departs Kobe. Placed on the Hanshin ~ Beppu, Oita Prefecture route.

22 March 1945:

Scheduled to be fitted with four single Type 96 25mm AA guns under Navy’s secret instruction No. 237.
30 March 1945:

15 August 1945:
End of the hostilities. Allotted with SCAJAP No. K-087.
10 August 1946:
Released to her owners and placed back in commercial service. Operated on Beppu-Osaka route in Inland Sea.
3 May 1947:
Removed from the Navy’s list under instruction No. 327.
1971:
Converted to a floating hotel in Hiroshima Wan.
1980:
Broken up in Japan.
