MIKAGE MARU was completed in 1897 as passenger-cargo ship S.S. PAROO for the West Australian Steam Navigation Co. Ltd., Fremantle. In '17, she was sold to the East Sun Shipping Co. Ltd., London. Renamed S.S. IRAN. In '22, she was sold to Okuda Yeikichi of Mikage, Kobe. Renamed MIKAGE MARU. In '41, she was requisitioned by the Imperial Army (IJA) and converted to a troop transport. In Oct '44, MIKAGE MARU was torpedoed and sunk by an American submarine SE of Korea.
