SEISHU MARU was purpose-built to transport and handle turrets of old battleships disarmed in accordance with the Washington Treaty. She was equipped with a 147-ton crane and later employed as a salvage vessel. She survived the war, but in 1946 ran aground in a typhoon and became a total loss.
This page covers the activities of SEISHU MARU that remained in service during the Pacific War.
