24 November 1944:
Urasaki Zosensho. Laid down at Kawanami Kogyo K.K. Shipyard as the 950-ton T.103-class landing ship tank No. 1572.

27 January 1945:
Launched.

22 February 1945:
Reserve Lt Isasaka Norimoto is appointed the Chief Equipping Officer (CEO).

28 February 1945:
Numbered T.172. Rerated a 2nd Class Yusokan.

10 March 1945:
Completed and reassigned to the IJN. Attached to Sasebo Naval District. Assigned to 2nd Transport Squadron of the Combined Fleet. Lt Isasaka Norimoto is the CO.

27 March 1945:
Drydocked in No. 3 drydock of Sasebo Navy Yard.

10 April 1945:
Departs Sasebo for trials, returns later that evening.

11 April 1945:
Departs Sasebo for Hakata Bay, arrives later that day.

12 April 1945:
Departs Hakata Bay for Kurahashi Island, Inland Sea, arrives later that day.

13 April 1945:
Departs Kurahashi Island for Kure, arrives later that day and refuels.

15 April 1945:
Departs Kure for Kobe, arrives later that day.

16 April 1945:
Departs Kobe for Kushimoto, arrives later that day.

17 April 1945:
Departs Kushimoto for Matoya Bay, arrives later that day.

18 April 1945:
Departs Matoya for Shimizu harbor, arrives later that day.

19 April 1945:
Departs Shimizu for Yokosuka, arrives later that day.

5 May 1945:
Lt Isasaka receives the order to return to Sasebo as soon as possible.

10 May 1945:
Departs Yokosuka for Sasebo.

11 May 1945:
E of the mouth of Tenryu River. Around 1028, T.172 is unsuccessfully targeted by two Consolidated B-24 (or PB4Y-2) patrol bombers. Makes an overnight stop at Toba harbor that evening.

12 May 1945:
Departs Toba for Garaku.

13 May 1945:
Departs Garaku for Yura.

14 May 1945:
Arrives at Yura.

15 May 1945:
Departs Yura for Hiro.

16 May 1945:
Arrives at Hiro.

24 May 1945:
Arrives at Moji, departs for Hakata Bay later that day.

26 May 1945:
Arrives at Hakata.

27 May 1945:
Departs Hakata for Sasebo. En route assists the mined KONGO MARU in Genkai Sea.

30 May 1945:
Arrives at Sasebo.

9 June 1945:
Temporarily assigned to a Sasebo-based amphibious vehicle unit armed with Special Type 4 Ka-Tsu amphibious landing craft.

15 June 1945:
Departs Sasebo for a training cruise, returns on the 17th.

27 July 1945:
Departs Sasebo for Chinkai (now Jinhae), Korea, later returns to Sasebo.

22-23 August 1945:
Conducts a training cruise off Sasebo.

26 August 1945:
Placed in 1st reserve at Sasebo.

15 September 1945:
Removed from the Navy List.

1 December 1945:
Designated a repatriation vessel. Assigned to Sasebo Repatriation Center.

20 December 1945:
Renamed Repatriation Vessel No. 172.

27 February 1946:
Kakinouchi Akio is appointed the CO.

15 March 1946:
Michino Isao (69)(former CO of the 67th Shinyo squadron) is appointed the CO.

5 September 1947:
Matsuo Keiji (67)(former CO of SHIRASAKI) is appointed the CO.

20 September 1947:
Nagai Hiroshi (67) is appointed the CO.

3 October 1947:
Removed from the list of repatriation vessels. Ceded to the Nationalist Republic of China as a war reparation No. 26 at Tsingtao (Qingdao). Renamed LUI SHAN.

December 1949:
Ferries supplies and Nationalist personnel from the mainland to Taiwan. After the cessation of hostilities laid up in Taiwan.

1953:
Undergoes repairs. Renamed AP-308. Assigned to Transport Squadron.

1955:
Caught by a typhoon off the Taiwanese coast and heavily damaged, scrapped sometime thereafter.
