TOUN MARU was completed in 1922 by Kawaminami Kogyo as a cargo ship for Okada Shosen K. K., Tokyo. Requisitioned by the Imperial Army in '42.
On 23 Oct '43, an American submarine torpedoed and badly damaged TOUN MARU. She was towed to Takao, Formosa, but repair was deemed impossible.
