8 December 1941:
At Cape St. Jacques (Saigon-area) supporting 22nd Air Flotilla.

21 December 1941-19 January 1942:
Airbase materials transport duties between Cape St. Jacques, Miri and Kuching, Borneo.

20-30 January:
Continued transport duties between Cape St. Jacques and Khota Bharu, Malaya.

1 February:
Departed Khota Bharu, then Kuching-Anambas-Bangka transport duties in support of Palembang attack operations.

21 February:
Arrived Muntok (Bangka), then patrol/escort duties out of that base.

5-9 March:
Steamed from Muntok via Kuching to Bangkok, then patrol/escort duties out of that base.

23-25 March:
Steamed from Bangkok to Singapore, then patrol/escort duties out of that base.

18-30 April:
Escorted shipping from Singapore via Palau to Rabaul.

20 April:
Lieutenant Commander Maekawa (to C.O. ASAGIRI) relieved by Lieutenant Commander Kashima Masanori [58] (prev. C.O. KURETAKE).

5-9 May:
Out of Rabaul in support of Moresby attack operations.

12-23 May:
Steamed from Rabaul via Palau to Maizuru, then docked for repairs.

13 June-21 July:
Escorted convoys between Japan and Saipan.

25 July-2 August:
Escorted convoy from Saipan to Haha-jima and back.

3-8 August:
Escorted convoy from Saipan to Rabaul, then patrol/escort duties out of that base.

26 August-4 September:
Rabaul-Buka-Shortlands patrol/escort duties.

16 September:
Out of Rabaul to meet TAIYO (delivering aircraft).

18 September-1 October:
Rabaul-Kavieng-Shortlands patrol/escort duties.

2-10 October:
Airbase materials transport duties between Rabaul, Jaluit and Shortlands.

13 October:
Transport run to Rekata.

23-27 October:
Escorted reinforcement convoy out of Shortlands in support of Guadalcanal (Hyakutake) offensive.

13 November:
Initial troop transport run from Buin to Munda to occupy airfield site.

17 November:
Transport run to Munda.

22 November:
Transport run to Munda.

24 November:
Escorted convoy to Munda.

27 November:
Escorted convoy to Munda.

29 November 1942-20 January 1943:
Shortlands-Buka-Rabaul-Kavieng patrol/escort duties.

23 January 1943:
Departed Kavieng, escorting AKITSUSHIMA. Sunk: torpedoed by USS GUARDFISH (SS-217) 15 miles southwest of Kavieng (02-47 S, 150-38 E). 13 dead, 124 survivors, including Lieutenant Commander Kashima (to C.O. YUNAGI), rescued by AKITSUSHIMA.

1 March 1943:
Removed from Navy List.
