Description: Single-engined crew trainer (K3M1, K3M2, K3M3 and Ki-7), light civil transport (MS-1) or utility transport (K3M3-L). Mixed construction.
Accommodation: Pilot and gunner in separate open cockpits and instructor and two pupils in enclosed cabin (K3M1, K3M2, K3M3 and Ki-7), or pilot in open cockpit and four to five passengers or light cargo in enclosed cabin (MS-1 and K3M3-L).
- One Mitsubishi-built Hispano-Suiza eight-cylinder vee liquid-cooled engine, rated at 340 hp for take-off and 300 hp at 1,000 m, driving a two-blade wooden propeller (K3M1).
- One Hitachi Amakaze 11 nine-cylinder air-cooled radial, rated at 340 hp for take-off and 300 hp at sea level, driving a two-blade wooden propeller (K3M2).
