Departed Mako, then with Hong Kong invasion force.

Out of Hong Kong to escort 2nd Malaya invasion force.

15 January 1942:
Departed Hong Kong, then Hong Kong-Formosa patrol/escort duties.

7-17 April:
Docked at Hong Kong for repairs.

10 April:
15th Escort Squadron deactivated; reassigned directly to Second China Expeditionary Fleet.

14-22 May:
Flagship of Second China Expeditionary Fleet.

19-23 September:
Docked at Hong Kong for repairs.

26 September-9 October:
Escorted convoys from Hong Kong to Palau and back.

18-25 October:
Docked at Hong Kong for repairs.

30 November-14 December:
Escorted convoys from Hong Kong to Palau and back.

22 December:
Departed Hong Kong, then Amoy-area patrol/escort duties.

13-18 February 1943:
Departed Hong Kong. Minor damage: (cause unknown) near mouth of Kwangchow River.

21 February-25 March:
Docked at Hong Kong for repairs.

29 March:
Departed Hong Kong, then resumed Amoy-area patrol/escort duties.

1 June:
Reassigned to 24th Special Base Force, 2nd Southern Expeditionary Fleet, Southwest Area Fleet.

4-12 June:
Escorted convoys from Hong Kong via Balikpapan to Surabaya.

15-22 June:
Escorted convoy from Surabaya to Ambon.

14-22 July:
Out of Ambon for Western New Guinea-area patrol/escort duties.

24-26 July:
Transport run from Ambon to Saumlaki (Moluccas) and back.

31 July-2 August:
Transport run from Ambon to Saumlaki and back.

5-9 August:
Transport run from Ambon to Kau (Halmahera) and back.

14-17 August:
Escorted convoy from Ambon to Babo (Western New Guinea) and back.

22-24 August:
Transport run from Ambon to Waru (Ceram) and Saumlaki and back.

27 August-1 September:
Transport run from Ambon to Kaimana (Western New Guinea) and back.

14-18 September:
Escorted convoy from Ambon to Kendari and back.

25-27 September:
Departed Ambon, escorting HOKURIKU MARU. Sunk: torpedoed by USS BLUEFISH (SS-222) 25 miles south of Flores Sea (05-00S, 121-57E).

1 December 1943:
Removed from Navy List.
